Cut, Spray and Burn / Bury
Date published: 30 March, 2015
This is available for the removal and destruction of all planted ash trees (more than three years of age) that are on Chalara fraxinea / Hymenoscyphus pseudoalbidus infected sites.
Trees must be removed through cutting with any cut stems being chemically treated to kill the roots. Removed trees must be disposed of in a manner which prevents any risk of infection spread, usually by burning or deep burial on site.
Grant support is available for the net area of ash served with a Statutory Plant Health Notice, i.e. if the original scheme was five hectares and ash was 20 per cent then one hectare will be funded. It will not be available for other tree or shrub species.
We will only approve your application if you agree to replant any area of woodland you clear.
