Removal of Tree Crop 3 to 6 Metres Tall
Date published: 30 March, 2015
This item is available for the removal of thicket-stage tree crops between three metres and six metres tall to enhance biodiversity or a designed landscape where the removal of a tree crop meets the objectives of the Woodland Improvement Grant – Habitats and Species option.
You must record the boundary of the area designated for tree removal on a map and give the management reasons for the operation in your application.
You must cut the trees as close as possible to the ground (below the bottom ring of branches) to ensure there is no regrowth.
If felling conifers, you must ensure that stump protection procedures are followed. The site must be cleared of trees; this can be done by mulching if appropriate.
Please ensure that any felling you propose to undertake is covered by the tree felling licence requirements.
